Reapers Earn Late 5-4 Win
The Riot Zone was the site of a competitive game between the Eugene Vandals and Grim Reapers.

The Grim Reapers did just enough to sneak past the Eugene Vandals, 5-4, at The Riot Zone. Grim pitcher Norman Ayres, in particular, had a standout performance. The winner in relief was António Maldonado. He is now 5-1. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Troy Edwards was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 19 of 24 save opportunities.

Grim used a timely hit from Ik-jun An to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Reapers ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," An told the Grim Herald.

The win elevated the Reapers to 39-31.
