In a low-scoring affair between the Hicksville Hounds and the Amarillo Warheads, pitcher Mick Ditka was the difference between victory and defeat. The Hicksville left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Hounds win. The win moves Hicksville to a record of 5-4.

The Hounds got a big hit from right fielder Mike Evans. In the bottom of the sixth, Evans smacked a 2-run home run off Amarillo pitcher Mark Hall. It was his 3rd home run of the season. Suddenly, the Hounds were ahead, 2-1.

"Tough loss," said Amarillo manager José López. "But we'll rebound from it."
