Crawdads Take Tight Tilt
|
The bats were silent much of the day at Crawdads Field. But Mike Coleman conjured up just enough offense to carry the Crawdads past the Grim Reapers, 3-2. Coleman was 2-2 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs. Tai sun Huo was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 12 save opportunities. The victory gives Cut Off a record of 45-28.
The Reapers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Crawdads going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old center fielder Kazuma Komatsu came to the plate. Komatsu hit a 2-run home run on a 0-1 slider from Grim hurler Anastasio Méndez. It was Komatsu's 1st home run of the year.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Cut Off manager Manuel Barrios.
