Redwood Defeated by Northwest Territory, 5-2
|
Redwood got a terrific game from third baseman Harley Norman. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Northwest Territory, 5-2. Norman went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Jesús López, the winner, improved to 1-1. He held Redwood to 1 run on 5 hits over 5 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. The loss puts Redwood at 8-4.
Pat Wallace put Northwest Territory in front, 5-1, when he hit a 3-run home run off Sidney van Campen in the bottom of the sixth. It was his 3rd home run of the season.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Wallace.
