Generals Win at Caldwell, 4-1
|
Washington starter Will Rogers pitched well against the Caldwell Chiefs at Pipers Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-1. Picking up the save was Alejandro Quintana, his 17th. After today's action, Washington sits at 40-38, while Caldwell falls to 33-45.
Tied up with the Chiefs in the top of the fourth inning, the Generals got a boost from left fielder Alcander Kaloxylos. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Kaloxylos saw a 0-1 fastball from Raymond Reeves and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Washington on top, 2-1.
"Will -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Generals manager Nathan Horton. "He was the key to us winning."
