The Octopi grabbed a win, 5-2, at The Zoo, overcoming a fine effort from Redwood pitcher Brian McDaniel. McDaniel went 6 innings and allowed no runs. With the win, Ogallala elevates its record to 5-9.

Yoson Takahashi came through with a big-time hit for Ogallala. The right fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 5-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Takahashi told the Ogallala Today. "You win just by scoring more runs."
