Rhinos Get Extra-Inning, 3-2 Win
|
The Zoo was rocking after an exciting Rhinos win.
The Redwood Rhinos found a way to sneak past the Memphis Music, 3-2, in 12 innings. Redwood pitcher Morie Wada, for one, had a standout performance. George Ringo claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record stands at 1-0.
The Rhinos nabbed the win, in part because of third baseman Harley Norman. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered the game-winning run-scoring single.
"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Redwood field general Joe Goff.
The loss lowers the Memphis record to 5-9.
