Otters Suffer 4-0 Setback
Tulsa got a terrific performance from pitcher Dustin Howard, but it wasn't enough to beat the Redwood Rhinos. Redwood won the Ballpark of Hughesville contest, 4-0. Howard threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Declan Phelps, now 1-1, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 4 and walking 0. With the loss, Tulsa falls to 11-4.

Redwood used the timely hitting of Wayne Buckby to capture the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rhinos on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"I thought we played a nice game," Buckby told the Redwood Chronicle. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
