Win Streak Now at 6 for Beavers
|
Germantown center fielder Mitsuoki Kawashima had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Kawashima went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once, even as Northwest Territory beat the Uruguayans, 5-4. The winning pitcher was Randy Powell. His record now stands at 2-1. The left-hander went 7.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits for the Beavers. The triumph makes Northwest Territory 11-4, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2062.
Danny Rainey, who is tied for 10th in the PA- in RBI with 10, aided the Northwest Territory cause with a 2-run double in the top of the sixth. For the game, the catcher went 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Rainey told the Northwest Territory Chronicle.
