Beavers Earn 4-1 Home Win
|
Northwest Territory and Tijuana duked it out and the Beavers came out victorious.
Jesús López was masterful in helping the Northwest Territory Beavers take down the Tijuana Toros, 4-1. López got the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up 6 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Darryl Brady was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.
The Beavers got a big at-bat from left fielder Patrick McKenty. For the game, McKenty went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Northwest Territory a 3-1 lead.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said López. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
The Toros drop to 7-9 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2061 season.
