Hounds Capture Close Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Hicksville Hounds and the Fort Knox Centennial, pitcher William Byrne was the difference between victory and defeat. The Hicksville right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Hounds win. The win went to Todd Rivera in relief, making him now 3-0. Adam Weijman took the loss for Fort Knox. Hicksville has a mark of 11-6 after the win.
Albert Leach had a direct impact on the outcome. Leach contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Hicksville up, 3-2.
"We busted our tails," said Fort Knox manager Michael Malloy. "But we came up short."
