Miguel Velázquez, who finished 5th in the SL in ERA with 2.50 in 2054, pitched well, but the Philadelphia Liberty still fell short, losing, 2-1, to the Pittsburgh Kingfishers at Pittsburgh Grounds. David White was the winner. He's now 2-1. The loser was 35-year old right-handed pitcher Miguel Velázquez. The Kingfishers win now puts them at 14-9.

Gilberto Padilla helped the Pittsburgh cause with one out in the bottom of the second. Batting with runners on 1st and 3rd and Pittsburgh leading 1-0, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.

"Some games build character," said Pittsburgh manager Tyler Johnson. "Like this one."
