Put-In-Bay Triumphs with Late Surge
The Put-In-Bay Commodores beat the Kennesaw Jets, 7-4, at Jets Stadium. Put-In-Bay right fielder John Wallace had an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Cam Stone claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits in 2.2 innings. His record stands at 3-3. Put-In-Bay is now 37-47. Kennesaw is 28-56.

Mike Rucker drove in one run for Put-In-Bay. With one out and the game tied in the top of the eighth inning, Rucker had a clutch at-bat. Facing Kennesaw hurler Marlon Henderson, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Commodores a 5-4 lead.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Wallace told a Put-In-Bay Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
