The Eugene Vandals defeated the Put-In-Bay Commodores, 5-3, in USPL Single A action at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. Eugene pitcher Sidney van Campen had a standout performance. Jeff Rodríguez finished to wrap up his 21st save. The 4th-place Vandals bumped their record to 44-41.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Yuan Chou? The 21-year old right fielder Chou stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put Eugene up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

Eugene manager Milton Mathews called it "a good, solid win."
