Kennesaw Absorbs 3-2 Loss to Smoky Mountain
|
The Kennesaw Jets and Smoky Mountain Hobeaus provided some drama for the home crowd.
In a low-scoring contest between the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus and the Kennesaw Jets, 20-year old left-handed pitcher Cisco Díaz proved to be the difference. The Smoky Mountain left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Hobeaus win. The 9th-place Hobeaus now have a win-loss record of 35-51.
Luis Martínez, who is tied for 3rd in the PA in runs scored with 50, chipped in a solo home run for Smoky Mountain in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Díaz. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
