The Newmarket Rogues knocked off the South Beach Blaze, 2-1, in USPL Single A action at The Ballpark on the Beach. Newmarket pitcher and Santiago, Dominican Republic, native Juan Zanudo had an outstanding performance. Zanudo, now 8-4, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Sean Ellis wrapped it up, recording his 20th save.

Newmarket used the hitting of Dave Hansen to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rogues on top, 2-1. For the game, Hansen had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

Zanudo attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
