Zoomies Need Extra Innings to Top Hounds, 6-4
|
The Shady Side Zoomies weathered an outstanding game by Hicksville right fielder Paulaui Olakeakua to topple the Hounds, 6-4. Olakeakua was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. For the Hounds, the loss makes them 7-12.
Shady Side third baseman Ray O'Day contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the tenth. With two down, he hit a slider into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 20th hit of the season and put the Zoomies ahead, 6-4.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," O'Day told the Shady Side Today.
