Grim pitcher Sze Wan had a large part in his team subduing the Eugene Vandals, 3-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Jeff Forrest was credited with the save for Grim, his 29th of the season. The Reapers, at 53-34, sit in second place in the Premier A.

The Reapers took the lead in the top of the third when Ramón Romero banged a two-out home run. Grim had been trailing 1-0, but Romero hit a 2-1 sinker from Chris Johnston for a 2-run home run.

Romero called the win "a team effort."
