The Tulsa Otters had to overcome a fine effort from Hudsonville pitcher Vic Halliwell to win, 3-2, at Hudsonville Park. Halliwell went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Bill Young got credit for the save for Tulsa. It was his 8th of the year. The win puts Tulsa at 10-9.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder George Jenkins came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Hudsonville pitcher Archie Minet, he hit a 0-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Tulsa on top, 3-2.

"Both teams played hard," said Tulsa manager Bob Grzelak.
