Flanderses Beat Northwest Territory, 4-3
|
The Hudsonville Flanderses took Jorge Flores's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Hudsonville Park. The final score had Hudsonville getting past the Beavers, 4-3, in 11 innings. Flores over 6 innings allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 6. Neil Snow picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-2. Gil Dunn was tagged with the loss. Northwest Territory is 10-9 after the loss.
The decisive blow was delivered in the bottom of the 11th when Tom Francis hit a run-scoring double off 19-year old right-handed pitcher Gil Dunn to win the game for Hudsonville. The home crowd went wild.
After the game, Hudsonville manager Teika Suto applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
