At Ramblers Ballpark, the Chicago Tula and Eugene Vandals were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Eugene second baseman Jorge Martínez played a vital role in his team's 6-3 conquest of Chicago. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Eugene. The winning pitcher was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Clarence Butler. He tossed 102 pitches over 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits. Jack Albert earned his 25th save, after closing out the game.

Eugene used a well-timed hit by Duk-yoon Yun to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Vandals ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

Eugene manager José Cervantes called it "a darn good win."

The Vandals now own a record of 45-44.
