Puffer Fish Suffer 3-2 Loss to Rhinos
|
Starting pitcher Ben Watkins gave the Redwood Rhinos a rock-solid effort. The College Park, Georgia native helped his team defeat the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish, 3-2, at Plattsburgh Park. Bob Morton got the save, the 7th for him this season. The win makes Redwood 11-9.
The Rhinos got a big at-bat from third baseman Kevin Reed. For the game, Reed was 2 for 5 with 2 doubles. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 6th double of the season gave Redwood a 2-1 lead.
"Ben was able to execute his pitches," said Redwood manager Joe Goff. "Simple as that."
