South Beach got a first-rate effort from pitcher George Young, who frustrated Philadelphia hitters en route to a 2-0 Blaze triumph at The Ballpark on the Beach. Young, the winner, moves to 2-3. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 4 walks. South Beach, at 48-41, occupies 5th place in the Premier A.

The game was at a stalemate until catcher Ian Clews came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Philadelphia pitcher Paul Dunn, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting South Beach on top, 2-0.

"We found a way to win tonight," Clews said.
