Delmarva Drops Another One, 2-1
|
Sumiteru Uemura pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Delmarva Gallos, despite Uemura's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Grim Reapers at The Coffin. Andrew Shirley earned the save for Grim, his 22nd of the year. This loss makes it 7 in a row for Delmarva.
Jeremy Brooks had a big 2-run home run for the Reapers in the bottom of the third inning. With Grim trailing 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Sumiteru Uemura, who is tied for 9th in the PA in innings pitched with 112.1, and punished it. The result was his 18th home run of the season, which put the Reapers on top, 2-1.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Brooks told the Grim Today.
