In a low-scoring contest between the Grim Reapers and the Lake Erie Arryns, 22-year old right-handed pitcher Francis Owens proved to be the difference. The Grim right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-0 Reapers win. Jeff Forrest sewed up the save, his 31st. The setback makes Lake Erie 39-50.

Grim used a timely hit from Joe Bunte to get the win. The first baseman delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Reapers on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Grim manager Arnold Magowan.
