Martin Schneider, who is tied for 8th in the PA in quality starts with 11, never let the Vandals get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Tula to a win, 5-1. Their 52-38 record puts the Tula third in the Premier A.
Gus Thomlinson broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the second with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Tula in front, 1-0. For the game, Thomlinson went 1 for 3 with a double.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Chicago manager Don Pokorski.
