Flanderses Rally Late to Nip Cajuns
|
The Hudsonville Flanderses had to overcome a good performance from Crowley pitcher Casu Marzu to claim a 3-2 win at Titans Ballpark. Marzu went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner in relief was Fred Scott. He is now 1-0. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. The 5th-place Flanderses have a record of 11-10.
Hudsonville used a timely hit from Eric Thomas to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Flanderses ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Hudsonville manager Jacob Messer.
