Crowley Nets 4-3 Win Versus Hounds
|
The Crowley Cajuns knocked off the Hicksville Hounds, 4-3, in USPL Low A action at Titans Ballpark. Crowley pitcher and Barberton, Ohio, native William Hinkle had an outstanding performance. Gray Wijnstekers snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. David Cole suffered the loss. The second-place Cajuns sport a record of 13-8.
The game reached a climactic end in the bottom of the ninth. With Crowley trailing 3-2, Chris Veeck delivered the decisive blow, stroking a fastball from David Cole for a 2-run double. Ballgame.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Veeck said.
