Pitcher Jesús López was sensational for the Put-In-Bay Commodores in his team's 4-1 triumph over the South Beach Blaze. López earned the win. Darryl Brady was credited with the save for Put-In-Bay, his 2nd of the season.

Marty Barber was vital to the Put-In-Bay win. He was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs. In the top of the second with one out, Barber hit a 2-run single. It made the score 2-0, in favor of the Commodores.

"Bottom line," said South Beach skipper Gerald Merendino, "we didn't play well enough to win."

The 8th-place Commodores sport a record of 39-51.
