Thunder Lick Rocketeers, 10-1
|
Thunder left fielder John Matthews put his stamp on his team's 10-1 win over the Seattle Rocketeers. Matthews went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for Toronto in the contest. Tai sun Rang, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-3. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Arvin Lawton closed it out for his 1st save.
Making an impact for the home team was Ánibal Hernández. In the bottom of the fourth, the 28-year old left fielder had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 3-1, Thunder.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Toronto skipper Jordan Smith.
