Ramblers Ballpark was the site of a competitive game between the Chicago Tula and Grim Reapers.
Chicago got a terrific game from left fielder Tony Bullock. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Grim, 5-3, in 12 innings. Bullock went 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Keith Greene picked up the win in relief. Cooper Jefferson took the loss for Chicago.
Grim used the timely hitting of Art Vandelay to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Reapers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We were the better team," crowed Vandelay.
This win makes it 5 in a row for Grim.
