The Delmarva Gallos got a superb performance from pitcher Danny Hockey. Still, it wasn't enough to beat South Beach. The Blaze won the game, 2-1. Hockey threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. With the win, the Blaze have a record of 54-37.
South Beach used the timely hitting of Nick Burke to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blaze on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We've got to get out of this funk," said Delmarva manager Félix Martínez.
