Arryns Saddle Vandals with 6-5 Loss
|
The Lake Erie Arryns turned back the Eugene Vandals, 6-5, at The Riot Zone. Momoru Nakayama, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2. The winner was Cecil Miller in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Malcolm Russell took the loss. Picking up the save was Tom McClendon, his 2nd.
Lake Erie grabbed control in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Ricardo Pérez delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 6-5, in favor of the Arryns.
"We ground out the win," said Pérez. "That's all that matters."
Lake Erie is in second place in the Premier A with a record of 54-38.
