Holy City pitcher Horace Cooper did his part in helping his team defeat the Eugene Vandals, 4-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Max Burse earned save number 6 this season. Holy City is now 36-56, Eugene 46-46.

Holy City used a clutch at-bat from Bob Rogers to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Herons ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Holy City manager Sean Sanford. "It's usually not just one thing."
