Loss to Zoomies Extends Northwest Territory Losing Streak
|
Shady Side Zoomies pitcher Edgar Vásquez was in top form, leading his team past the Northwest Territory Beavers, 2-1. In 6.2 innings, Vásquez surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Stewart Dawson, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Todd Pacheco had a big run-scoring double for the Zoomies in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Shady Side leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Hoalohanani Enakai and swatted a double to right. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Zoomies ahead, 2-0.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Shady Side manager Joey Trifone.
Northwest Territory has now lost 9 straight.
