The South Beach Blaze withstood an impressive performance by Delmarva catcher Amador Espach to defeat the Gallos, 7-6, at The Cage. Espach went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Dani Rodríguez, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 6 runs on 9 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 10-4. Picking up his 22nd save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Manny Sexton.

South Beach used a clutch at-bat from Gerard Daniel to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Blaze ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said South Beach manager Gerald Merendino.

The win puts the Blaze at 59-34, while the Gallos drop to 34-59.
