Terry Ward pitched a gem to lead Redwood to victory over the Fort Knox Centennial, 1-0. In 5.2 innings, Ward surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Mark Sims picked up his 7th save of the season.

The Rhinos got a big boost from first baseman Jorge Martínez who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first inning off Centennial hurler Hubert Estes. It was his 7th RBI of the season and put Redwood on top, 1-0.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Fort Knox skipper Justin Saginov, "and it cost us."

Redwood, at 12-12, sits in 5th place in the Premier Low A.
