The Fort Knox Centennial overcame a fine performance by Hicksville second baseman Roderick Shelton to defeat the Hounds, 12-5, at Ballpark of Baxter. Shelton went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Orlando Díaz earned the win to go to 3-0. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with no walks and 8 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. Getting the save was Jerry Pate, his 2nd.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Centennial had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the first, when first baseman Adam Bell hit a 2-run single. The single came off Jesús Cortéz and made the score 2-0, Centennial. Bell was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Fort Knox manager Justin Saginov.

The triumph puts Fort Knox at 13-11 for the season.
