Vandals Upend Crawdads, 4-2

Eugene pitcher Broderick Morales did his part in helping his team defeat the Cut Off Crawdads, 4-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Jack Albert earned the save, his 27th. The 6th-place Vandals lifted their record to 49-47.
The Crawdads had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Vandals going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old shortstop Ed Brandon came to the plate. Brandon hit a 2-run home run on a 1-2 sinker from Cut Off hurler Spike Cornett. It was Brandon's 12th home run of the year.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Morales.
