Win Goes to Cajuns in Tight Contest
Crowley designated hitter Bill Matthews played a vital role in his team's 8-3 conquest of Redwood. He was 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Crowley. Ronaldo Hoppfer claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4.1 innings. His record stands at 2-1. The victory makes Crowley 9-17.

Matthews contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Crowley in the top of the ninth. With his team trailing 3-2, Matthews took a fastball from Mark Sims and stroked the home run to right. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Cajuns to leap in front, 6-3.
