Rhinos Get Clutch Win, 3-2
|
The Redwood Rhinos and Tulsa Otters completed their game despite the rain.
Starting pitcher Rubén Sánchez gave the Redwood Rhinos a rock-solid effort. The Barahona, Dominican Republic native helped his team defeat the Tulsa Otters, 3-2, at The Zoo. Denis Morris, 1-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Redwood catcher Sean Key, facing Quinton Barnard, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Rhinos the 3-2 win.
"The ending was a real humdinger," Sánchez told reporters after the game.
The loss makes Tulsa 14-14.
