Juan García had a good game, but he could not keep the Germantown Uruguayans from falling, 5-4, to the Fort Knox Centennial at Ballpark of Albuquerque. The Germantown right fielder went 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Travis Farmer picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Ronald Montés suffered the loss. Adam Weijman picked up the save for Fort Knox, his 7th of the year.
The result might have been different, had it not been for 21-year old second baseman Carlos Cordero. Cordero had a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Centennial ahead, 5-4. For the game, Cordero had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We took home the win," said Cordero. "What's not to like?"
Fort Knox is 18-11 and Germantown, with the loss, 16-13.
