Uruguayans Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Germantown Uruguayans did just enough to nip the Ogallala Octopi, 1-0, in 11 innings. Germantown pitcher Alex Nelson, in particular, had a standout performance. The misery continues for the Octopi, who have now dropped 10 in a row.
The Uruguayans got a clutch hit from left fielder Raúl Silva. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Uruguayans.
"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said Silva. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."
