Crossbeaus Squelch Hounds Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Beaumont Crossbeaus rode a solid performance from 19-year-old starting pitcher Rory Sherman to a win, beating the Hicksville Hounds, 3-0, at The Target. The winner was Sherman. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Gabriel Delgado. Héctor Rodríguez closed out the game, earning his 2nd save.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Crossbeaus had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when shortstop Anthon Bos hit a 2-run single. The single came off Gabriel Delgado and made the score 2-0, Crossbeaus. Bos went 2-5 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Bos.
