Hounds Snatch Late-Game, 3-2 Win
|
Starting pitcher Gabriel Delgado gave the Hicksville Hounds a rock-solid effort. The Cartagena, Spain native helped his team defeat the Northwest Territory Beavers, 3-2, at Beaver Town. Juan Román came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Earning his 1st save for Hicksville was Ryuichi Agano.
Hicksville used the timely hitting of Bang-eun Yi to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Hounds on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I believe in our guys," said Hicksville skipper Art Manning. "I like the energy they're playing with."
The first-place Hounds have a one-game lead in their division.
