Crowley Keeps Spiraling Downward
|
The Fort Knox Centennial got a magnificent performance from pitcher Joe Blamey, who muffled the Crowley offense en route to a tight, 1-0 Centennial win at Ballpark of Baxter. Adam Weijman earned the save, his 8th, for the Centennial. Crowley now owns a losing streak of 8 games.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Centennial had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when catcher Luis Villarreal hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Robbie Kuhn and made the score 1-0, Centennial. Villarreal was 1 for 4.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Crowley manager Bill Wallace.
