Extra-Inning Win by Beavers Over Rhinos
|
Redwood wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Shane Park, falling to the Northwest Territory Beavers, 4-2. Park threw 7.2 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. The win belonged to Jay Keirl in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Dennis Jones took the loss for Redwood. Darryl Brady recorded the save for Northwest Territory, his 7th of the season.
Patrick McKenty came through with a big-time hit for Northwest Territory. The center fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said McKenty. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."
At 18-14, the Beavers are currently 4th in the Premier Low A.
