Penni goes 4-for-5 to Pull Pandas to .500

The Montana Pandas grabbed a win, 5-4, over the Mexico City Blue Demons at Condor Nest. Montana first baseman Basilio Penni went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Denny Gaston picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Leonard Dennis suffered the loss. The Pandas now have a record of 13-13 with the win over Mexico City.
This game was not decided until Ernesto Vázquez came to bat in the top of the ninth. With runners on 1st and 3rd and no one out, the Montana designated hitter hit a sacrifice fly. The Pandas took the lead, 5-4.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Vázquez. "You've got to get results."
