Lakers Topple Billy Goats, 4-1

Pitcher Bernardo Cruz was sensational for the Echo Park Lakers in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Colorado Billy Goats. Cruz earned the win. Cruz, now 3-0, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The Lakers improved their record to 18-8 with the win over Colorado.
Étienne Duchesne, who is tied for 9th in the SL in runs scored with 16, took Colorado hurler Raúl Hernández deep in the bottom of the fourth. His 2-run home run put the Lakers on top, 3-1. In all, Duchesne had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
