Hicksville Hot Streak Continues with 2-1 Win
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Hicksville Hounds and the Tijuana Toros, Jeff LaPierre, who is tied for 7th in the PA- in innings pitched with 49.1, proved to be the difference. The Hicksville left-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Hounds win. Juan Román earned save number 3 this season. Hicksville has now reeled off 9 straight wins.
Jerry Knight had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for Hicksville. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Hicksville in front, 2-0.
"When their pitchers are leaving stuff over the heart of the plate, we're not missing it," said Hicksville manager Art Manning.
