It wasn't easy but the Germantown Uruguayans made it look that way.

Starter Rickey Montgomery shut out the Redwood Rhinos despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Germantown Uruguayans cruised to victory, 5-0. Montgomery allowed only 7 hits and rang up 9 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."

Checking out his stats for the season, Montgomery has notched 2 wins and 1 loss in 5 starts. His ERA is 1.80 and he's struck out 25 batters in 25 innings.
