Big Day for Becker as Warheads Down Otters, 7-1
|
A 3-RBI performance from designated hitter Rick Becker, who is tied for 2nd in the PA- in bases on balls with 20, led the Amarillo Warheads to a win over the Tulsa Otters, 7-1. The winning pitcher was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Hal Gaines. He tossed 86 pitches over 7.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. With the win, Amarillo upped its record to 24-11.
Amarillo took a 6-1 lead on Becker's 7th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which he hit off Miguel Padilla in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Amarillo to the win.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Becker said after the game.
