Redwood and Hudsonville got after it at Hudsonville Park.

In a low-scoring contest between the Redwood Rhinos and the Hudsonville Flanderses, Shane Park was the X factor. The Redwood right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. With the win, Redwood pushed its record to 22-14.

With runs few and far between, the Rhinos had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Redwood came in the top of the fifth inning, when 20-year old left fielder Freddie Washington delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Joe Dunn and made the score 2-0, Rhinos. Washington was 1 for 4 with a hit by pitch.

In postgame remarks, Washington applauded his team's "toughness."
