Hounds Get Past Athletic Club KC for 6-5 Win
|
A good performance from second baseman Roderick Shelton helped the Hicksville Hounds defeat the Athletic Club KC U-21, 6-5. Shelton hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Hounds. The Hounds improve their record to 18-19 with the win over Athletic Club KC.
Shelton had a timely hit for Hicksville in the top of the ninth. With Athletic Club KC trailing 5-4, he turned a 1-2 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season, making it 6-5, Hicksville.
"We played hard and won," said Shelton. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
